Yes, as an editor I have to concede to there being a few misplaced apostrophes, but are you sure you're not just cut cause you couldn't come Michael? ;) - I was giving you the benefit of the doubt and not putting you in the canoe trip criteria of "girl" :).
Next time I'll ask girls and boys from TBT and England, then you can come ...
Let me see: apostrophes basically go where there is a letter missing or in the case of possession, is the general rule of thumb I think (but you don't do "it's" for possession, only for "it is", because like all good English there are exceptions).

I never did get where to put the apostrophe ... I trace it back to a failure in my education somewhere around year 2.
